Toure Crowned African Player of the Year 2011

Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been crowned the African Player of the Year 2011 at a colourful ceremony in Accra, Ghana.

The 28-year old pipped Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew and Malian Seydou Keita to scoop the topmost honour at the Awards Gala on Thursday at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.

Former World 5,000m champion Eliud Kipchoge has been recalled to the Kenya team for next month's Commonwealth Games.
